At the April 3, 2019 meeting, a call for nominations for all 5 board seats was made. Nominations for three seats were received. Because there were no more nominations received that exceeded the number of board positions, all three nominated became board members by default in compliance with Title 11, Chapter 209 otherwise known as the TEXAS RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY OWNERS PROTECTION ACT, a state statute.
The new board of directors took office at a special meeting called on May 1, 2019. The new directors are Marc Pelton (President), Bud Stuart (Vice President & Secretary) and Phylis Sanchez (Treasurer). Two seats remain vacant, but can be filled by appointment as designated by the other board members.
I am honored by the outpouring of support from neighbors and retiring Board Members I have received along with the other new Board Members. It is our express desire to represent everyone in the 31.5 acre Neighborhood of Lakeland Park.
Safety , Security, Erosion control, maintenance and improvements remain the goals of the POA. To that end we welcome input& assistance from everyone! There are empty seats on the Board & in the committees at this time that we look forward to getting filled. The previous Board has laid a firm foundation that supports our neighborhood goals. To this end, we endeavor to progress forward in improving the Lakefront treasure we all love and cherish.
Serving all, and working with respect and small compromises, we strive to bring our neighborhood together in our common goals.
